Down the North Western end of Old Tailem Town, the FAT FARMERS Health Hub truck supported the Adelaide University Rosemary Bryant Skin Cancer Clinic; alongside the Flinders University Heart Health test team; across from BreastScreen SA's mobile clinic.
As well as skin checks, blood pressure monitoring, sugar level assessments (diabetes testing), a range of general and heart health checks were provided. 63 adults took advantage of these services ensuring these health professionals had a very busy day, particularly the skin check team.
At the BreastScreen SA mobile testing van 32 rural women called in for mammograms.
These FREE health services helped so many isolated farmers to access health care that was able to identify problem conditions before they got out of hand. Six farmers were found to serious issues that have fortunately been identified before it was too late and a number of others have benefited from early warnings. RESULT!
